Abstract

Distributions of ..pi../sup + -/ mesons and ..gamma.. rays in longitudinal rapidity and transverse momenta in diffraction and nondifraction ..pi../sup -/p interactions are presented for p=40 GeV/c. Topological cross sections have been determined, and also the dependence of the average multiplicity of ..pi../sup O/ mesons on the number of secondary charged particles in diffraction interactions. The momentum and angular characteristics of the two types of interactions are discussed.
