Comparison of the analgesic effects of Dezocine or Fentanyl for intravenous patient-controlled analgesia

Objective To compare the analgesic effects and adverse reactions of Dezocine or Fentanyl for patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA.Methods 120 patients undergo-ing cystic resection aged 39 ~ 52 years were randomly divided into 2 groups with 60 cases each.They received PCIA after operation.The PCIA solution contained Dezocine 1 mg/kg and Droperidol 5 mg in 100ml of normal saline(N.S.) in group A or Fentanyl 18μg/kg and Droperidol 5 mg in 100 mL of normal N.S.in group B.VAS(0=no pain,10 =worst pain) was used to measure pain in-tensity and their side effects were recorded at 4,8,12,24 h after operation.Results There was no significant difference in VAS score and side effects between the two groups.Conclusion The analgesic effect of Dezocine PCIA is reliable and it′s a sound PCIA method.
