Abstract
Umbilical artery Doppler velocimetry is an effective and noninvasive measurement,to assess fetal-placenta hemodynamic variation. It can predict the fetal development and the perinatal outcomes by means of measuring the parameter such as S/D,PI,RI and so on.Absent or reversed end-diastolic velocity(AREDV)during pregnancy is a strong risk indication of intrauterine death, with perinatal mortality as much as 50%.As a test for placental function, umbilical artery flow study show low sensibility in normal pregnancy screening. However,it is significant for high-risk pregnancy(pregnancy-induced hypertension, intrauterine growth retardation, fetal distress, etc.),and it can provide important basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
