Abstract

Objective To investigate drug resistance status of Klebsiella pneumoniae(KNP)infection in our hospital in recent years. Methods A retrospective analysis of drug resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae in 2005~2008 was conducted.Resulls There 276 ESBLs-producing K.pneumoniae strains were detected among 640 strains with a positive rate of 42.4%.Drug resistance of ESBLs-produing K.pneumoniae strains to antibiotic was higher than in non-produing ESBLs one.Imipenem was the most sensitive one with a resistince rate of below 2.3%,followed by cefepime and nitrofurantion(below 16.1% and 27.2%).Resistance to ampicillim was over 97.9%,followed by ceftazolin,gentamicin,ampicillin/sulbactam,trimethpprim/sulfa and tobramfcin. Conclusion The drug resistance of K.pneumoniae is a serious problem, rational use of extended-spectrum antibiotic is indicated.Carbapenems such as imipenem and meropenem are the first choice ofdrugs to K.pneumoniae infection.
