Abstract
[Objective]To study the influence of IGF-I on the pathogenesis of uterine leiomyoma by detecting its expression in the sera of normal women and the patients in peroperative period and after the operation. [Methods] ELISA was used to determine the expression of IGF-I in the sera of 20 cases with uterine leiomyoma and 28 healthy women . Each patient served as own control during peroperative period and after the operation. [Results] The expression of IGF-I in the sera of patients had no difference with the normal subjects (P﹥0.05). The expression of IGF-I in the sera of patients 1d before operation was different with that 5d after the operation distinctively (P﹤0.05). The expression of IGF-I in the sera of patients 1d before operation had no difference with that of patients were cured (30d-45d after the operation) (P﹥0.05). [Conclusion] Expression of IGF-I in uterine leiomyoma may be higher and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of uterine leiomyoma.
