Abstract
Lignocellulose is a complex that contains many complicated polymeric organic compounds, mainly cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin,as well as some solubility in polar and weak polar solvent extract. The pretreatment is one of the critical steps in the transformation of lignocellulosic materials to ethanol, which would directly influence hydrolysis efficiency of cellulose and ethanol production cost. The pretreatment techniques of lignocellulose and the effects were summarized, and the development of biomass pretreatment techniques were put forward in this paper.
