Research Progress in Pretreatment Techniques of Lignocellulose

Abstract
The pretreatment of lignocellulose is a critical step in the production of fuel ethanol by lignocellulosic materials. The composition and the structure of lignocellulose and its effects on cellulose hydrolysis were introduced in this paper. The purpose of pretreatment and the criterions to evaluate pretreatment effects were summarized economically. The usual pretreatment techniques were put forward and some with great economic potential were discussed in details. Finally, the development foreground of pretreatment techniques was predicted.
