Abstract

In order to evaluate the effect of row spacing patterns on grain filling characters of compact winter wheat variety Xinmai 26,a field experiment was carried out with three row spacing patterns:15cm,20 cm and 25 cm.The results showed that row spacing patterns could influence the dry matter accumulation of gain,gain filling rate,grain filling duration and final grain weight.The gain weight increment were lower and higher during earlier and later grain filling period respectively in 15 cm treatment,which was 1% amd 5% higher than that in 20 cm and 25 cm treatments after flowering 31 d.The grain filling rate of different treatments order was20cm15cm25cm during early grain filling stage,and 15cm20cm25cm during later grain filling stage.Increasing row space raised the relative grain filling rate,but cut down the grain filling duration.The maximum and mean grain filling rates were relatively stable.The final and predicted grain weights decreased by 4% and 8.5%,respectively,along with the increase of row space.Therefore,the narrow row space could extend the grain filling duration and increase the grain weight.
