Abstract
Objective: To identify the correlation between TCM syndromes factors of ischemic stroke and cerebral infarction volume in cerebral artery area. Methods: The patients with acute cerebral infarction were included and information of TCM four diagnostic methods were collected. The syndrome factors were extracted according to the Stroke Syndrome Diagnostic Criteria with attached scores. The cerebral infarction volume in cerebral artery area was measured by ITK-SNAP2.4.0. The data was analyzed by SPSS 17.0. Results: Wind syndrome(n=56, 82.4%) was the most frequently seen in TCM syndromes factors of ischemic stroke while yin deficiency and yang excess(n=15, 22.06%)syndrome was the least frequently seen. The frequencies of fire syndrome, phlegm syndrome, blood stasis and qi deficiency syndrome were 39(57.35%),40(58.82%),20(29.41%) and 25(36.78%) respectively. The scores of wind syndrome, fire syndrome and qi deficiency syndrome were positively correlated to the cerebral infarction volume(P 0.05) with fire syndrome mostly significant correlated(P 0.01). The other TCM syndromes factors had no statistical correlations. Conclusion: The scores of TCM syndromes factors are correlated to cerebral infarction volume in cerebral artery area.
