A New Species of the Genus Dentifibula (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) from China

Abstract

In the present paper, a new species Dentifibula magna Mo et Liu, sp. nov. of the genus Dentifibula Felt 1908 from Zhejiang Province of China is described. The type specimens are kept in the Insect Collection of Shandong Agricultural University. Dentifibula magna Mo et Liu, sp. nov. (Figs. 1～5) The new species is similar to Dentifibula nigritarsis Mo 1992, but can be distinguished by the following characters: 1) body is longer in size (length 1.7 mm～2.0 mm); 2) first segment of palpus 1.7～2.0 times as long as middle width; 3) third flagellomere with basal stem 4 times as long as width; 4) aedeagus of male genitalia is longer than gonocoxite slightly. Holotype: ♂, Longwang Mt. (30°23′N, 119°23′E), Anji county, Zhejiang Province, 21 Ⅶ 2000, collected by MO Tie lu and LIU Tao. Paratypes: 2♂♂, same as holotype.
