Abstract
BACKGROUNDAIM: To study the effect of grape procyanidin(GPC)on Bcl_2and Bax expression of the bone marrow cells. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The mice given different dose of GPC were exposed to 60 Co r_rays whole body subacutely. The Bcl_2and Bax expression of mice bone marrow cells was measured by immunohistoˉchemistry method. RESULTS: The expression rates of Bcl_2and Bax of the irradiating control group were10.02%and20.88%respectively,and those of the high dose GPC group were18.28%and16.14%.The differences between the two groups were significant(P0.01). CONCLUSION: GPC can inhibit the abnormal expression of Bcl_2and Bax induced by 60 Coγ-rays radiation.
