Abstract
The paper delves into the C-E translation of public signs from the perspective of intertextuality.And some living examples on the C-E translation of public signs have been offered and analyzed on the basis of intertextuality,aiming at stressing the important role of the translator′s intertextual knowledge of both source text and target text in the C-E translation of public signs.
