Abstract
AFLP(amplified fragment length polymorphism) is one of the new DNA molecular marker techniques, it has been widely used in the studies of germplasm and genome in fruit trees. Its principle and procedures were briefly described. The application of AFLP in genetic linkage map construction, fingerprinting and varieties identification, genetic diversity and genetic relationships analysis, genes linked to qualitative traits localization of fruit trees in recent years were introduced. And the problems and practical prospects of AFLP technique were also evaluated.
