Abstract

Abstract In addition to Council Directive 85/337/EC The Assessment of the Effect of Certain Public and Private Projects on the Environment, now implemented in the United Kingdom as far as possible within normal town and country planning procedures (see Chapter 12), a later Council Directive 2001/42 EC, on the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Directive, has now been similarly implemented through normal town and country planning procedures.
