Abstract

Jinzhou has a history of more than 2,000 years, under the jurisdiction of Dalian only for about 100 years, which can prove the view that Jinzhou was founded earlier than Dalian. The ancient town Jinzhou is an important cultural resource both for Jinzhou and Dalian, but little remains of the ancient town can be found due to the reconstruction of the city, which is a great challenge for the reconstruction of Jinzhou. This paper dwells on the concepts of ancient town ruins and tourism authenticity, proposes the view that the reconstruction should be conducted under the guidance of city theory and heritage protection theory, including recessive space attention, keno capitalism and sense of place, etc.,and memory resources and project-focused researches are important impetuses for the reconstruction. Three alternative plans for the reconstruction and its significance are discussed.
