Abstract

[Objective] To probe into the neuro-mechanism of chronic fatigue syndrome and the intervention effects of physical exercise.[Methods] 40 male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group, model group, exercise model group and exercise group. The rat model of chronic fatigue syndrome was made by sleep deprivation plus overload exhaustive swimming.Exercise mode was 8-week spontaneous wheel running. The concentrations of 5-HT in hippocampus and occipital cortex were measured by high performance liquid chromatography.[Results] Compared with control group, the concentration of 5-HT was significantly decreased in model group(P﹤0.01).Compared with model group, exercise model group got higher level of 5-HT(P﹤0.05).The concentration of 5-HT was significantly increased in exercise group than that in control group(P﹤0.05).[Conclusion] As an effective protection measure,long-term exercise can lower neuro-injury caused by chronic fatigue syndrome.
