Abstract
[Objective] To study the BMI and the prevalence rate of fatty liver in 750 cases in order to explore the correlation between BMI and fatty liver.[Methods] Measured body height and weight to calculate BMI.Used GE color Doppler to exam fatty liver.Two-sample u-test.F-test.Chi-square test were carried out to analyze the data.[Results] The mean of BMI and the prevalence rates of overweight, obesity and fatty liver were respectively 24.56,42.11%,15.29% and 34.17% in males,22.50,21.94%,6.84% and 10.10% in females. All items between male and female were significant at the 0.05 level. The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity in people who suffered from fatty liver were respectively 53.21% and 30.28% in males,51.72% and 20.69% in females, and were respectively higher than the people who did not suffer from fatty liver. The prevalence rate of fatty liver became higher while the BMI increased. There was the positive linear correlation between BMI and fatty liver.[Conclusion] The prevalence rates of overweight, obesity and fatty liver in this group are higher than general population, and there is positive correlation between BMI and fatty liver.Advocating health-promoted behaviors, eliminating healthrisky behaviors, balancing nutrition, getting physical activities and controlling BMI are suggested to prevent from fatty liver and other chronic diseases.
