Abstract

Two hundred and sixteen F_1 hybrid combinations of wheat were used to evaluate the effects of genotypes on anther culture response (ACR). The results indicated that the anther culture responses were different among genotypes. The genotypes of high ACR and that of low ACR accounted for about a quarter respectively, and the middle types accounted for about a half. The selection of parents to make cross combination in anther culture breading were also discussed, and good varieties or genotypes with high ACR were proposed. The results are of great importance for improving th efficiency of anther culture breeding.
