OBSERVATION OF THE CLINICAL EFFECT IN TREATING HEART ATTACKS AND ANGINA WITH DEPSIDE SALT FROM SALVIA MILTIORRHIZA

[Objective] To evaluate the therapeutic effects of depside salt from salvia miltiorrhiza in treating heart attacks and angina.[Methods] 96 patients met the criteriaOF heart attacks and angina were randomly divided into treatment group(48 cases) and control group(48 cases).Both groups were treated with routine therapy,whereas the treatment group was given depside salt from salvia miltiorrhiza at the same time,and its effect was observed.[Results] The total effective rate for treat-ing angina in treatment group and control group was 91.6% and 68.7%,respectively.The total effective rate of electrokardiagram in treatment and control group was 83.3% and 62.5%,respectively.There was significant difference between the two groups.[Conclusion] The frequency of angina was decreased noticeably and the condition of cardiac muscle ischemia was improved by using depside salt from salvia miltiorrhiza.The curative effect of depside salt from salvia miltiorrhiza combined with the routine western medicine was better than that of the routine western medicine in treating heart attacks and angina.
