Abstract
The requirements for handling and stability under system failure in the general airworthiness regulations for transportation aircraft can't fully cover the safety requirements for aircraft with electronic flight control systems, and a new airworthiness compliance verification method is needed. The Federal Aviation Administration Advisory Circular25-7C (AC25-7C) recommends the use of Handling Qualities Rating Method to evaluate this type of aircraft and provide an overall verification idea, but there is a lack of specific guidance and requirements at the practical level of airworthiness. This paper conducts an in-depth study on Handling Qualities Rating Method, and gives a more complete and more reasonable airworthiness verification process and assessment criteria. A description of the verification process with examples is shown in this paper, and this method is versatile. The research results can provide an important reference for the airworthiness certification test of civil aircraft.
