Abstract
In the past, organizations worked in a stable environment where the external pressures and changes were not very influential and were easily predictable. Unlike then, today, organizations are exposed to unpredictable changes which significantly impact the organizational development. Organizational development is a continuous process in which such changes are to be addressed, the problem areas shall be identified and suitable alternatives, offered. It is a lengthy process which is expected to bring about change both in individual and in organizational behavior. Organizational development is actually a continuous phenomenon of improvement and learning. Hence, the relationship of organizational learning with organizational development arises.Organizational learning makes organizations skilled at creating, acquiring and transforming knowledge which influences and contributes to a change in the organization that will provide organizational development and greater market competitiveness. Such changes shall be continuous as to ensure continuous development, such impact becoming the right recipe for improvement.The impact of organizational learning on organizational development can be analyzed in many ways, in terms of the type of organization and the type of respondents. Therefore, in this paper, a special focus is put to services organizations. Services organizations offer services as independent business activities which are subject to compensation. Alike other organizations, services organizations are constantly exposed to the challenges of modern times. The response to such challenges, the focus on learning can cause changes that will affect their organizational development. Based on that, this paper places special focus on the results obtained from a research conducted in services organizations in the Republic Macedonia. The target group of this research were representatives of the top management of these organizations. The results of the research enable perception of the impact of organizational learning on organizational development in services organizations in the Republic Macedonia, from the aspect of top managers.
