Abstract

The research paper discusses the intelligent transformations in the contemporaryurban space in the framework of the relationship of these transformations with the concept ofsmart urban data and its various urban applications. The research aims to shed light on theimpact of smart urban data in modeling urban space transformations to reach to aninformational urban space that has many features, including urban self-emergencymanagement. The research assumes that information technology has a role in transformingthe structure of contemporary urban space into two parallel levels, the urban space(visible),and the other is the informational urban space (invisible), where the urban space can be readin three levels (physical - social- cyber). The research reaches to construct the theoreticalframework and the application steps for building the informational urban space through urbanspace modelling including urban aspects modelling and urban aspects profiling with smarturban data. With practical application cases, the paper argue how the utilizing the concept ofurban space modeling in meeting the real needs of decision-making, urban emergencymanagement, operation and management. The concept of modeling urban space be able tomodel cities with smart urban data, and this make them as organisms runned and managedthrough information.
