Analysis on the Structure of Local Chronicles in Ming Dynasty

In Ming Dynasty, there were many types of local chronicles, including historical records style, parallel style, compendium style, political style, event-based historical records style, Three-treasure style and chronicle style. By analyzing the similarities and differences of the structure of local chronicles in Ming Dynasty, summarizing the advantages andadvantages of different kinds of local chronicles’ structure, this paper explores the source changes of different structures of local chronicles in Ming Dynasty, and compares and analyzes the changes between in Ming Dynasty and in previous dynasties, between in Ming Dynasty and in later dynasties. The structure of local chroniclesin Ming Dynasty is a kind of inheritance and innovation of the structure of that in previous dynasties, which enriches the theory of local chronicles’ structure and it has important reference value for contemporary local chroniclescompilation.
