Analysis of the Current Situation of China's Tourism Safety Standards and Suggestions for Improvement

Safety standards are very important to ensure tourism safety. China's current tourism safety standards are mainly based on national standards and local standards. National standards are mainly mandatory. Standards about the safety of scenic spots, tourism products and facilities account for nearly 80% of the tourism safety standards. Local governments attach great importance to the safety of scenic spots. However, the current standard system has several problems, such as insufficient supply of standards on the new tourism products and so on. It is suggested to strengthen the tracking of new products used in tourism, and formulate relevant technical standards in a timely manner. Some tourism safety standards should been upgraded to national mandatory standards. It is suggested to formulate mandatory national standards about tourism services.
