Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of 8 weeks Pilates Core Exercise on body composition and physical fitness in middle-aged women. 41 women were recruited and randomly assigned to exercise group(n=21) and control group(n=20). The pre and post tests were conducted to evaluate the subjects’ body composition and physical fitness. SPSS/PC+version 24.0 statistical software was used for the study. The descriptive statistics were calculated using the SPSS. The calculated values were also indicated by mean and standard deviation. The difference between the main effects of the group was analyzed by two-way ANOVA, and for post-verification, Bonferroni method was used. The significance level of all statistical analyzes was set at α=. 05. The results are as follows. First, Participation of 8 weeks Pilates Core Exercise significantly improved height and muscle mass in body composition. Second, Participation of 8 weeks Pilates Core Exercise significantly improved upper body muscle strength, lower body muscle strength, muscular endurance, balance, flexibility, and cardiopulmonary endurance.
