Abstract

Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate the in-vitro antioxidant activity of Hordeum vulgare belonging to family Poaceae. Methods: The shade-dried stem part of H. vulgare (1kg) was powdered and extracted by chloroform, petroleum ether, ethanol, and aqueous extraction methods using soxhlation. The extracts were concentrated using a rotary evaporator under decreased pressure at 40 °C until they were free of solvents. Thereby crude extracts were provided and employed for further studies.
