Abstract

The most general dynamic-independent symmetries of multi-pion systems with definite spin, parity, and isotopic spin are considered. The forbidden pion configurations resulting from these symmetries are obtained for systems consisting of four and three pions in states with spin 0,1, 2, isotopic spin 0,1 and parity plus or minus 1. This can be used to determine the quantum numbers of conceivable resonance systems decaying into pions by means of strong interactions. The results are listed. (auth)
