Abstract
The purpose of this research is to provide a sound basis for determining the relative profitability of corn, soybeans, grain sorghum (milo) and wheat in three of the major soybean producing areas of Nebraska. The primary objectives are as follows: (1) To determine the cultural practices used in the production of corn, soybeans, grain sorghum and wheat in three producing areas of Nebraska. Irrigated corn and irrigated soybeans will be included in Central Nebraska. (2) To determine the physical quantities and dollar value of the inputs used in the production of these crops in the three selected areas. (3) To determine the returns for producing each of these crops in the selected areas of Nebraska and to compare the average returns from the crops studied. Advisor: A. W. Epp
