Abstract

Objective To provide the scientific basis for prevention and control strategy by analyzing the characteristics of population distribution of pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Methods The database of tuberculosis patients among the physical examination population in Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital from June 2009 to May 2012 was established, and the epidemiological data of these tuberculosis patients were analyzed. Results A total of 505 tuberculosis cases were detected, including 402 male patients and 103 female patients. There was a significant difference of detection rates between male and female(x2 =169.75,P < 0.01).Among 505 cases,289 cases (57.22 %) were 31 to 50 years old,and 125 cases were medical workers (24.75%) with higher detection rate (x2 =33.13,112.28,73.66,120.25,P all < 0.01) than those of population from science education and culture, food hygiene, public places trade and other trade. Conclusions Most of the tuberculosis infection cases are young adults from 2009 to 2012.The annual detection rate of medical workers is increasing year by year.It is necessary to take measures to control the infection of pulmonary tuberculosis. Key words: Tuberculosis, pulmonary; Physical examination
