Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of the combined surgery of cataract and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). Methods The data of 142 eyes of 142 cases of cataract with PDR from Feb. 2015 to Jan. 2018 in this hospital were analyzed retrospectively. All cases were randomly divided into two groups. Group A, 72 eyes received phacoemulsification combined with vitrectomy and intraocular lens implantation. Group B, 70 eyes received vitrectomy combined with lensectomy and intraocular lens anterior capsular ciliary groove implantation. Results Between the two groups, there was no significant difference in preoperative visual acuity (P=0.453), but the difference in postoperative visual acuity was statistically significant between the two groups(Z=-4.121, P=0.035). There was no significant difference in intraocular pressure after operation between the two groups at different time points (P>0.05). The incidence of corneal edema and lens capsule opacity in group A were lower than that in group B (P<0.05). Conclusion The visual acuity after phacoemulsification combined with vitrectomy for cataract with proliferative diabetic retinopathy is better than that of lensectomy combined with vitrectomy, and the complications are less than that of vitrectomy combined with vitrectomy. Key words: Cataract; Retinopathy, diabetic, proliferative; Surgery, combined
