Developing the AAP health care proposal

An updated AAP federal legislative proposal to secure health care for all children and adolescents is being developed with input from AAP members, business leaders, legislators and others. The federal government9s first priority in 1997 should be care for AAP President Robert Hannemann, M.D., said. We have 12 million uninsured children in this country, most of whom come from working families. Adequate, affordable health care should be the standard for all children, not a privilege for the few.
