Study on prolonged administration interval of triptorelin for post-operative endometriosis

Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the feasibility of prolonged administration interval of triptorelin for post-operative endometriosis.
Methods
89 women with stage 3-4 endometriosis were randomly assigned to a study group (42 cases) and a control group (47 cases). The observation group were intramuscularly injected 3.75 mg triptorelin every 5 weeks after operation, and the control group every 4 weeks.
Results
During the treatment, there was no statistical difference in estrogen level between these two groups. The menstruation recovery time was (234.0±17.1) days in study group, and was (209.0±13.6) days in control group.
Conclusions
The injection of triptorelin every 5 weeks after operation for patients with stage 3-4 endometriosis is feasible.
