Cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents with different fasting plasma glucose aged 13-15 years in Qinhuangdao

Objective To study the cardiovascular risk factors in adolescents with different fasting plasma glucose(FPC)aged 13-15 years in Qinhuangdao.Methods A study of cardiovascular risk factors was conducted on 1665 adolescents aged 13-15 years.Measurements included height,weight,waist circumfereuce,hip circumference,blood pressure and FPG,total cholesterol(TC),triglycefide(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C).Results (1)The prevalence of the clustering of cardiovascular risk factors was increasing with graded FPG levels at 0.56 mmol/L interval.The range of every groups were FPG 5.6mmol/L.The result of our study indicated that the recommended criteria from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) is also appropriate to the Chinese population aged 13-15 years.
