The effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the life quality of the urinary bladder tumor patients with colostomy

Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the life quality of the urinary bladder tumor patients with colostomy. Methods In our hospital from January 2010 to December 2013, 42 the urinary bladder tumor patients with colostomy were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group with 21 cases in each group. The routine nursing was adopted in the control group and the observation group adopted the comprehensive nursing intervention. EORTC QLQ- C30 was used to assess the patients'life quality, the life quality of the patients in the two groups were compared before and after nursing. Results The scores of functional rating scales of two groups(physical function, role function, cognitive function,social function, emotional function) were significantly increased(all P< 0.05), the scores of symptoms rating scales(fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain)and the score of single item(anhelation, insomnia, appetite loss, astriction, diarrhea) all significantly reduced(all P< 0.05).The scores of functional rating scales of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the scores of symptoms rating scales and the score of single item were just the opposite. Conclusions The comprehensive nursing intervention can significantly improve the life quality of the urinary bladder tumor patients with colostomy.
