Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of the dose and the way and times of administration of alloxan ALX and body weight of mice in diabetic mice model. Methods To observe the effects of the dose, the way and times of administration of alloxan, and body weight of mice on serum glucose, body weight ,the incidence and mortality of diabetes in mice were compared. Result Compared with normal saline, all methods of copying model could significantly promote serum glucose. Serum glucose of one-step administration of intraperito-neal group was higher than two-steps group. One-step administration of intraperitoneal group had no statistics influence with one-step administration of intravenous group. The mice of middle weight group had higher serum glucose than high and low weight group. Body weight of mice was declined in all groups except two-steps administration intraperitoneal group, and the incidence of diabetes was 100 percent in one-step middle weight group. Conclusion One-step intraperitoneal administration of alloxan 200mg/kg could promote the incidence of diabetes models, and the mice weighting 18 ~22g are the best . Key words: Alloxan/AD; Body weight; Models;  animal; Diabetes mellitus;  experimental
