Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of vitrectomy combined with intraocular foreign body extraction and retinal laser photocoagulation. Methods Surgeries of vitrectomy combined with intraocular foreign body extraction and retinal laser photocoagulation were performed on 66 eyes of 66 cases. Results The surgeries of intraocular foreign body extraction of 66 patients all were succeeded. In 65 eyes (98.48%,65/66) detachment of the retina did not happen after surgery, postoperative intraocular pressure was 11 ~21 mmHg,and the retinal detachment occurred in 1 eye(1.52%).The best correct visual acuity improved in 63eyes(96.97%).Conclusion Vitrectomy combined with intraocular foreign body extraction and retinal laser photocoagulation were efficient in treatment of intraocular foreign body. And the retinal laser photocoagulation to prevent the occurrence of retinal detachment plays an important role. Key words: Vitrectomy;  Photocoagulation, retinal, laser;  Extraction, foreign body , intraocular
