Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation for patients of high myopia with cataract. Methods Thirty-nine eyes of 28 patients of high myopia with cataract were selected and retrospectively analyzed in our hospital from July 2014 to July 2015. All cases were treated by phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. The visual acuity and complications after surgery were observed. Results Visual acuity <0.2 were in 9 eyes, 0.25 and 0.4 were in 19 eyes, ≥ 0.5 were in 11 eyes. The uncorrected visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity after surgery were significantly higher than those preoperative (P<0.05). The corneal edema postoperative occurred in 4 eyes (10.2%), intraocular hypertension happened in 1 eye (2.6%), the complication rate was 12.8%. After treatment 3-7 ds, corneal edema in all patients subsided, and the intraocular pressure returned to normal. Conclusion The phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation for patients high myopia with cataract, could effectively improve visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity, and it has a slight surgical trauma, postoperative visual acuity recovers fast.
