Treatments for neonatal acute dacryocystitis

Objective To investigate the more effective treatments for neonatal acute dacryocystitis. Methods Sixty children(63 eyes)with neonatal acute dacryocystitis were selected, they were randomly divided into group A and group B, the course of the disease and cure methods of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The average hospitalization days had significant difference between the two groups, the average hospitalization days of group B was significantly shorter than that of group A(t=5.638, P 0.05). Conclusions Neonatal acute dacryocystitis received rinse at the day of anti-infection, selecting the appropriate timing for lacrimal duct exploration after the inflammation control can obviously shorten the treatment time, improve the cure rate, reduce complications and sequelae. This is an effective method for the treatment of neonatal acute dacryocystitis. Key words: Neonatal; Acute dacryocystitis; Lacrimal duct
