Abstract

Objective To investigate the effective methods of anastomosis for traumatic lacrimal canaliculus lacerations. Methods The appropriate surgical methods of broken ends finding and anastomosis were performed in 54 eyes of 54 cases with traumatic lacrimal canaliculus lacerations according to their specific injuries. Results Of 54 eyes after treatment 4 cases of 48 eyes with inferior lacrimal canaliculus laceration were obstructed in early time postoperatively, 4 cases obstructed 6 months later. One case of 3 patients with superior lacrimal canaliculus laceration appeared epiphora. 3 cases with both superior and inferior laceration of lacrimal canaliculus flushed smoothly when the pipes were put out. Conclusion Appropriate surgical method according to injury condition is effective for traumatic lacrimal canaliculus laceration. Key words: Lacrimal canalicular, lacerations, traumatic; Anastomosis
