Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of postoperative subcutaneous negative pressure drainage tube preventing incision fat liquefaction in overweight patients with colorectal cancer. Methods From Jan.2012 to Aug.2012,83 cases overweight (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2) patients with colorectal cancer who will accept operation treatment were randomly divided into two groups.Observation group (41 cases)placed with hole measuring subcutaneous drainage tube when suturing of abdominal incision.Persistent postoperative negative pressure drainage for 3 days, pullout the drainage tube when drainage of the fluid was reduced. The abdominal wall incisions of the control group (42 cases) were given conventional suture. The incision healing of the two groups was compared. Results Fat liquefaction occurred in only 1 case (2.4%) in observation group and 9 cases (21.0%) in control group. Conclusions Application of subcutaneous drainage tube to maintain the negative pressure drainage can effectively prevent abdominal incision fat liquefaction happenning,so it can reduce patients' pain. Key words: Negative pressure;  Subcutaneous drainage tube;  Incision;  Fat liquefaction
