Abstract
Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of ultrasonic in cavernous transformation of the portal vein. Methods 12 patients with cavernous transformation of the portal vein which confirmed by CT and DSA were retrospectively analyzed. The ultrasonic features and the blood flow of portal vein were observed. Results Ultrasound showed portal vein stenosis and alveolar or network no resounding area around the portal vein. There was no blood flow or few flow signals in occlusive portal vein. The network around the portal vein filled with color blood flow signals. Conclusion Ultrasound was a no trauma and convenience method in the diagnosis of cavernous transformation of the portal vein. Key words: Cavernous sinus; Transformation; Ultrasonography
