Abstract

Objective To investigate the Multidetector spiral CT(MDSCT)feature of cavernous transformation portal vein and to evaluate the clinical value of MDSCT in diagnosing Cavernous transformation of portal vein(CTPV).Methods The MDSCT finding in 35 patients with cavernous transformation of portal vein comfirmed by pathologically,DSA or US were retrospectively analyzed. Results The characteristic features included losing the normal structure of the portal phase and obliteration and many abnormal enhanced collateral vein around portal vein(cystic vein). On dynamic enhanced MDSCT scans, abnormal hepatic perfusion appeared in arterial phase in 17 cases and disappeared in venous phase.MDSCTA with Maximum intensity projection(MIP)and volume rendering(VR)reconstruction accurately depicted both the tumor thrombus within the portal vein and collateral vessel of CTPV.Conclusion Dynamic enhanced MDSCT and MDSCTA are of great value for the diagnosis and treatment of CTPV.
