Abstract

Objective To investigate the experience of trans-scleral suture fixation in foldable intraocular lens implantation through small incision without irrigation. Methods 19 cases without complete posterior lens capsule supports or of dislocated lens were treated with transscleral ciliary sulcus fixation of foldable intraocular lenses in posterior chamber. The IOLs were implanted into posterior chamber by propeller and were fixed in sulcus by suture. Results Postoperative visual acuity became better than preoperative one, it was over 0.6 in 11 eyes. The astigmatic value was (1.00±0.25) D. No serious complication was observed. Conclusion The intraocular surgery with transscleral suture fixation in small incision foldable intraocular lens implantation without irrigation has the character of small incision, less complication, mild astigmatism and better vision outcome. Key words: lens, artificial, foldable;  transscleral suture fixation;  small incision;  nonirrigation
