Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of the level of estrogen and the change of visceral sensation by antidepressant treatment and its relation with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). Methods Sixty female IBS-D patients selected and identified according to RomeⅢDiagnostic criteria were divided into two groups, 30 cases in the study group (27completed)and 30 cases in the control group (28 completed).The former were given antidepressant treatment and mental adjustment treatment, the latter were give conventional treatment.
