Construction of the traditional Chinese medicine nursing basic knowledge and skills training content for nurses with western medicine education background

Abstract
Objective
To construct the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing basic knowledge and skills training content for clinical nurses with western medicine education background.
Methods
Training content and weight was defined by literature review, bibliometric analysis, Delphi expert enquiry.
Results
Training content included 4 first-level items involving Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Summary, Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Basic Theory, Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Basic Content and Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Basic Technique, 30 second-level items and 105 third-level items.
Conclusions
The constructed TCM nursing basic knowledge and skills training content for nurses with western medicine education background has the high expert active coefficient and authoritative coefficient, concentrated ideas and reliable results. Construction of the TCM nursing basic knowledge and skills training content for clinical nurses can provide a basis for TCM nursing training by institutions.
