Abstract

Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of Sangjuyin and antibiotics for children with acute bronchitis and to analyze its mechanism. Methods Seventy-two children with acute bronchitis treated in our hospital from May, 2013 to July, 2018 were randomly divided into a treatment group (n=36) and a control group (n=36). The control group took routine symptomatic treatment; in addition, the treatment group was treated with Sangjuyin. The scores of TCM syndromes, changes of heat course, levels of IgG, IgA, IL-4, and IFN-gamma, and Th1/Th2 cell ratio before and after the treatment were compared between the two groups and analyzed. Results There were no statistical differences in TCM syndrome scores between the two groups before and 2 days after the treatment. 4 days after the treatment, the TCM syndrome score was (14.77±4.16) in the treatment group, which was lower than that in the control group (P 0.05). After the treatment, the levels of IgG, IgA, IFN-γ, and IL-4 were (9.24±2.50) g/L, (1.82±0.36) g/L, (252.91±52.32) pg/ml, and (13.73±4.11) pg/ml in the treatment group, which were better than those in the control group (all P 0.05). 2 and 4 days after the treatment, the Th1/Th2 cell ratios were (2.236±0.451)% and (3.574±0.664)% in the treatment group, which were higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion Sangjuyin and antibiotics for children with acute bronchitis is effective and can effectively improve their clinical symptoms and immunity, Th1, and the balance of Th1/Th2, and inhibit Th2 and inhibit inflammatory response. It is worthy of clinical application. Key words: Children with acute bronchitis; Sangjuyin; Th1/Th2 cell ratio
