Abstract
Objective To explore the nursing intervention effects on children with asthma. Methods We used respective comparative study method and randomly divided 120 children with asthma into control group, system group and improving group, with 40 cases in each group. All children of three groups received additional nursing intervention based on the routine treatment. The nursing intervention for asthma children contained 7 steps: the basic medication guide, Health education and child profile, medication guide, Adverse drug reaction knowledge intervention, self-administration education; health lectures and patients′ home and behavioral intervention. The children of control group applied the first step of intervention; the children of system group applied the steps of 1-7 of intervention; the children improving group employed the steps 1-4 of intervention. The lung function of asthma children FEV1(%) and the medication score after the intervention were compared among three groups. Results The median of FEV1(%) in system group was 81.0 after three months of intervention, while improving group and control group were 81.9 and 76.8, and the comparison differences in three groups of were statistically significant (Hc=11.023, P 0.05). After six months of interventions, the medication score of system group was (4.17±1.20) and the scores for system and control group were (3.97±1.03) and (4.87±1.33); the comparison difference in three groups was statistically significant (Hc=7.890, P 0.05). Conclusions Nursing interventions can improve the FEV1 and treatment effects, and there is no statistical difference between the systematic nursing and the improved nursing in intervention effects.
