Abstract
Objective To discuss the observation on the efficacy of the application of the family-centered nursing intervention model in children with asthma, to provide references for a totally new nursing intervention mode. The new mode can provide high-quality extended care for the children after their discharge from the hospital to reduce the recurrence rate of asthma and improve the quality of life. Methods A total of 76 cases of children with asthma treated in the Respiratory Department in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2016 were selected.According to the sequence of hospitalization of the children, they were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 38 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine respiratory asthma care and the traditional care model, while the experimental group adopted the model of family-centered nursing intervention for six months on the basis of the control group. The new model assisted to establish good relations between family, children and staff, made family members take the initiative to participate in the patients' disease management.Personalized management solutions were developed according to the actual situation, and dynamic assessment and evaluation was formulated to adjust management solution. The changes of recurrence rate, quality of life and self-care behavior of the children of the two groups were compared, and the data were analyzed statistically. Results After intervention, the quality of life and the self-care behaviors of children of the experimental group were significantly improved, and the differences were statistically significant compared with those of the control group(P<0.05). During the intervention, the recurrence rate of relapse of the experimental group was 18.42%(7/38), which was significantly lower than that of the control group 31.58% (12/38), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions The family-centered nursing intervention model applied in children with asthma can effectively improve the self-care behavior of children and reduce the recurrence rate of asthma, thus the quality of life of children was improved.
