Observation of central hole phakic posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation for correction of low to moderate myopia

Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of central hole phakic posterior chamber intraocular lens (ICL V4c) implantation for correction of low to moderate myopia. Methods The data of 182 eyes of 96 cases of low or moderate myopia (-1.50 D- -6.00 D) who received central pore type phakic posterior chamber intraocular lens (ICL V4c) implantation from Jan. 2015 to Dec. 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The visual acuity, diopter, corneal endothelium cell density were compared between before and 3 months after surgery. The arch height of intraocular lens was observed after surgery. Results The residual astigmatism at 3 months after surgery was - 0.50 D, accounting for 86.79%. The degree of astigmatism was between ±1.00 D, accounting for 92.55%, and the uncorrected visual acuity after surgery was better than BCVA before surgery in 180 eyes (98.90%). The difference of visual acuity was statistically significant between before and after operation (t=3.243, P=0.004). There was no serious complication after surgery. Conclusion Central hole phakic posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation is safe and effective for correction of low to moderate myopia. It has good predictability and good stability.
