Management of posteriorly dislocated lens or intraocular lens

Objective To evaluate the surgical skills of managing the lens or intraocular lens dislocated into the vitreous cavity. Methods Lens dislocated after blunt trauma in 3 eyes, and in 11 eyes, lens or intraocular lens dislocated in or after cataract surgery. Standard pars plana vitrectomy and 0.4-4.0ml perfluorocarbon fluid were used in these 14 eyes. Lens or intraocular lens were removed through the limbal region, or some lens were fragmented in the vitreous cavity. Anterior intraocular lens or ciliary sulcus fixation lens were implanted at the same time. Results The dislocated lens or intraocular lens were all removed or fragmented successfully in these 14 eyes. Introuclar lens were implanted in 13 eyes（92.86%）,and the visual acuity increased significantly in 12 eyes（85.71%）. Conclusions Vitrectomy, removal or fragmentation of dislocated lens or intraocular lens should be given to these eyes as early as possible. Intraocular lens implanta- tion at the same time was recommended. Key words: lens lenses;  intracoular;  dislocation;  vitrectomy
